Sanjay Ram

Hi, I’m Sanjay! I am a senior in Bioengineering (UW Class of 2026) with minors in Applied Mathematics and Chemistry. I currently work in the Newell Lab at Fred Hutch, focusing on immunoengineering research. My work involves studying the reprogramming of exhausted CD8+ T-cells in tumor microenvironments, with applications in cancer therapies and chronic infections. I am currently working on completing revision experiments for a paper in the Kueh Lab (formerly at UW, now at Yale), after which I will translate my mouse-model research into human systems. Outside of academics, I volunteer at the Multicare Tacoma General and Allenmore Hospitals, supporting clinical staff in patient care. Beyond the lab and hospital, I enjoy caring for my aquariums, hiking, and exploring the outdoors.
