BioExplore UW is an inclusive, research-focused student organization dedicated to connecting students with the wide range of bioengineering and bioscience research happening at the University of Washington. Our goal is to make research more accessible, visible, and approachable for students of all backgrounds and levels of experience.
We create opportunities for students to learn about research pathways, explore different fields within bioengineering and the life sciences, and gain practical tools for getting involved in labs. Through events such as faculty and student presentations, panel discussions, skill-building workshops, and lab tours, BioExplore highlights the diversity of research topics and career paths available in the biosciences.
BioExplore is designed to be flexible and welcoming. There is no formal membership, and students are encouraged to attend as many or as few events as their schedules allow. We typically host several events each quarter and welcome anyone interested in learning more about research, whether you are just starting to explore or already involved in a lab.
By fostering an open and supportive community, BioExplore aims to lower barriers to research involvement and help students find opportunities that align with their interests and goals.
